Who are the Vancouver Southsiders?
The Vancouver Southsiders are the longest‑standing and largest independent supporter group of Vancouver Whitecaps FC. We’re a passionate, volunteer‑run community dedicated to creating an electric matchday atmosphere, supporting the club through thick and thin, and building a welcoming culture for supporters of all backgrounds.
We sing, chant, wave flags, organize tifo, travel to away matches, and work year‑round to support the team and the broader soccer community in Vancouver.
What do the Southsiders do on matchday?
On matchdays, we lead chants and songs for the full 90 minutes, coordinate flags and banners, and help bring the supporters section to life.
We also organize the famous March to the Match, where we all gather at Dublin Calling pre-match and march to the stadium together, waving flags, lighting off smoke bombs and singing all along the way. The march typically leaves the pub 45 minutes before kick-off.
Outside of matchdays, we organize social events, away trips, community initiatives, and supporter‑driven projects.
Where are the Southsiders located in BC Place?
The Southsiders are located in Section 254, behind the south goal at BC Place. This is a standing supporters section where fans stand, sing, chant, and actively support the team for the entire match.
Please note that Section 254 is a GA section, so arrive early to claim your spot.

What are the expectations of supporters in Section 254?
Section 254 is an active supporters section. By choosing to purchase your ticket here, you’re expected to:

Stand for most (if not all) of the match

Participate in chants and songs when possible

Be respectful to fellow supporters, players, and staff

Help create a positive, inclusive, and loud environment

Support the boys on the pitch
If you prefer a seated or quieter experience, we recommend choosing a different section of the stadium.
How does Southsiders membership work?
Southsiders membership is an annual membership that runs for the current Whitecaps FC season. Anyone can join, season ticket holder or not.
Memberships are purchased through our website and help fund tifo, matchday materials, events, and supporter initiatives.

I just signed up for my membership. Now what?
Welcome!
As a member, you’re entitled to your official VSS scarf and membership card. These can be picked up at any Supporter Warm-up event, which take place before weekend home matches at our official partner pub, Dublin Calling on Granville St.
If you live outside of the lower mainland, please contact membership@vancouversouthsiders.ca to arrange for an alternative method of receiving your membership package.
If you don’t have seasons tickets in the supporter section, we offer a limited amount of GA single tickets for every home match. These can be found on the ticketing section of our website while supplies last.

Do I need to be a member to stand in Section 254?
Membership is encouraged but not required to purchase tickets in Section 254. You’re welcome to come see what we’re all about before you decide to join!
Please note that members get priority access as well as discounted rates on all home matches in the GA section.
Is Section 254 family‑friendly?
Supporter culture can be loud, energetic, and passionate. While many families attend matches with us, parents should be aware that the environment includes standing, chanting, drums, and flags, along with the occasional profanity.
How can I get involved?
Volunteers are at the core of our supporters group and we wouldn’t be able to operate without them!
