MLS Round 29: Montreal Impact
Away Game Info
Wednesday, August 28th, Kickoff 5:00pm
I have good news and bad news. The good news is that Maxime Crépeau has set an all-time MLS record for saves in a single game. He made sixteen saves on Saturday. Sixteen! His tenacity and focus is astonishing. Watch him work.
The bad news is a bit more negative than the good news is positive. The Caps conceded a league record number of shots on Saturday, are still last in the West and have barely managed to score a goal a game through the season. If you want a small silver lining to being in the basement of the Western Conference, the Wooden Spoon seems like a thankfully remote possibility with FC Cincinnati lagging 9 points behind. I wonder how the search for a new Director of Sportsball is going?
The team is on the road against Montreal this Wednesday. It’s a bit of a homecoming for Crépeau (and Marc Dos Santos as well, but let’s not talk about that). I honestly hope Maxime doesn’t have to work as hard as he did in San Jose. The Whitecaps have a chance to play spoiler against Montreal who let the final playoff spot slip through their grasp in their last match. Do it for Maxime, guys.
