I've been told 13.
I'll stop looking then
I think it doesn't look too bad for something to wear to the game as a fan. They are clearly trying to market it as something that goes well with jeans (which it does). Even from the FIFA clip there it does look a bit manky when worn in a game. I'll reserve full judgement until Saturday but it does look a bit minging!

i agree, I think both of those options would be excellent.

I disagree. I understand the frustration over a monchrome kit. I guess I'm thinking of the kit as is. I'm never crazy about lighter colored shorts with a dark top. However if it was white shorts, and there was more white in the shirt it would work.
Light blue socks would have been fine.
I do feel that Addidas makes some pretty generic kits. They do have some winners for the big boys at Euro like Germany, Ukraine, and Russia. However some are just plain, while Nike has some of the better ones. Poland, Holland, Croatia.
The biggest letdown in denmark.
The Danish always had exciting kits...

boring

I always loved that 1986 Denmark kit. Good call
That Hummel is a classic. Danish brand they played in for years...
Most Adidas tops are lazy crap. Having said that the current German 'away' kit in Green is spot on but seems to be almost deliberately retro in ways that none of the other shirts are.
My fave Dutch shirt.

I agree. White shorts with appropriate coloured accents would look pretty sharp. I actually really like the jersey but the whole kit all together with the socks is just so brown. Too much.
bobby lenarduzzi was just on news hour final with randene and squire. he just reviled that he is colour blind......no joke!
all jokes aside he says it was a group decision with adidas, bell, the owners, and the marketing department.
Aren't they allowed to use the original logo or what? This jersey will look better with the original imo..
I like the new design. Much better than recycled blue, white, red, or cookie-cutter kit. Brown is original, the design is clean, its easy on the eyes, and doesn't burn a hole in your eyes like the Sounders' kit. This is something new and different which isn't a bad thing considering MLS teams generally look like the Adidas catalogue.
IMO, the only thing that could've topped this would've been a retro re-design of the 1980's Cap's kit.
Looks like the Cap's 3rd is favoured around the league in regards to the other 8 teams that produced a third kit.

Yeah, when you compare our third kit to some of those other ones, our kit looks good.
BTW, not a big fan of Bell but I'm glad that Whitecap's kit sponsor isn't some pyramid company (Amway) or a company named "Bimbo." (I know it's Bimbo bakeries but still)
should have looked something like this IMHO, this new Arbutus brown 3rd jersey could have been and meant so much more.

I guess I can say at least the brown is different. Although sky/baby blue (whatever you want to call it) is part of our colours, it is done by others already (as a primary) and over done at that.
3rd kits don't usually have much to do with team colours and if you look all over the world (other than MLS) even the 2nd kit doesn't have much to do with team colours. These kits were produced to sell as a fashion piece rather than making sure that they look good on the field. How many of us are going to play for the caps this season? How many of us wear a pair of jeans on a regular basis? If you look at the kit as a fashion piece rather than an on field product then it makes a lot of sence.

"RIDE DA BULL"... Errr...
I am a jersey whore. I went to look at them at stadium and now own one. A hat too. I would sit on my couch eating ice cream but need to lose 5 pounds to fit in this damn athletic fit.
They should have gone for a balanced editorial and let some of the brain trust come up with such clever statements as: brown is poo colour and/or it looks like a UPS uniform.
I like it. Brown and blue has always been a classic colour combo. Wish they had some thick hoops of blue on the socks though. I think by itself, the jersey looks good, but as a whole kit, maybe just a little too brown. I think I'll get one.
I think the scarf could have been light blue with brown lettering. Would have looked sharp together.
the light blue side of our southsiders scarf matches, no need for a new scarf to match hahah

I tried to +1 this but hit the button twice :/
I like it. Its brown and its different. Its only the 3rd jersey afterall. Too many people are taking it way too personal.
Its just the 3rd kit. Relax.
But all in all, I like it, and may be purchasing one very soon.
Poor Sebastien. I like to do my little dance on the cat-walk, on the cat-walk. I'm too sexy for my kit, too sexy for my kit.
good examples of keeping with tradition all the while trying something new and original.

Just trying to illustrate that they could have done so much more within the confines of the adidas brand to tap into the Whitecaps Football Club history and tradition as well as whats in store for the future.
IMHO What we have now with the brown has no real connection to the club or where the club is going its just a really expensive t shirt that goes with everything that you can wear out if you want.

I'm happy with the Brown.. It looks retro, fresh and different. This kit actually makes me want to buy one.. as opposed to the "offical" jerseys,.. which I haven't purchased yet.

You're trying too hard to justify your obviously minority opinion...it's ok to not like it but what's the point of trying to convince everyone you're "right". For me it's a perfect 3rd...great colour combo and hoops...but thats just my oponion. :)
Sometimes you have to try new things. If Clubs always stayed true to their roots, we'd still be the red and white with black trim.
If they'd decided this was going to be their primary alternate, I might have something negative to say about it. It's not. It's a third kit that they're going to wear three times, and it's going to make them a shitpile of money.
Sorry footymonster, the light blue aint that different from many jerseys. I like brown. Would have liked a little different design with maybe blue arms and bell written in blue. I still bought one lol.
I wear a great brown hoodie. I can't imagine anyone saying "That's the colour of poo." Would anyone ever say that about a t-shirt your friend was wearing? Very bizarre.

have been following St Pauli and the Caps for ever. My son thought St Pauli was playing on tv. MY son and i love the Caps whites. they are classic and a class uni. I love any of the ST Pauli strip forever. the third strip is different and we like it, better than half of the uniforms in the league. probably will not see it much but it is better than pink, the english national greys, the man u blues, the german national reds, look at soon of the ugly barca uniforms. more messed up uniforms than any club ever. my son was wearing his st pauli uniform in the season opener march. can not miss him on you tube. when we got to the stadium he wanted a white uni. he got the hassli shirt at the edmonton game. caps for ever.

The flexfit adidas hat looks awesome. I'll have my hands on that one for sure. I love the kit, not sure if I'll get one. As mentioned above though it's a neat fashion piece.
Does anyone know if they're actually selling the training shirt (long sleeves ... Le Toux was wearing it in the fashion show)? I looked in most of the kiosks and couldn't see it. Not online either.
So the Whitecaps have unofficially extended the deal on what jerseys they will give you half off on if you buy the third jersey at the same time. Now includes either the White or Blue and they will even do the long sleeve.
