I Know The Score
I Know The Lineup

God that recap pisses me off… Whitecaps have really been handed the short end in the history of this tourney. I think its time they get it all back.
Torsten Frings is apparently not traveling with TFC. Neither is Aceval. Is Frings hurt? If not, I can't imagine why he wouldn't come. This is basically their season.
I don't think they will put out a full strength team against us. If they did, and then the players were tired from the match and didn't perform against DC United on Saturday, then they'd be 0-0-9
And? They have a 0.2% chance of making the playoffs. Don't get me wrong, I'll take it. It just seems bizarre decision making on their part.
i heard that the mls record for longest losing streak in a single season was 12 games by the new york red bulls. let's see if toronto can beat that. i want them to.
Southside Nation,
Torsten's shoulder is still messed up and word on the street is that he probably shouldn't have played last week.
Much Love,
Forever A Team

1 site has x.3 for Toronto to win the Cup. No payout if Caps win.
TFC is stupid if they prioritise the DC game over the Canadian Championship. They've come this far just to throw it away? Haha, idiots. I hate TFC, especially their fat asshat fan Dwayne Rollins.
Since the Road to Morocco 2013 continues, I will sing this:
TFC must remember this... a kiss is just a kiss... a siigghhhh is just a siiiggghh!!!! The Whitecaps will be the champs! And wave TFC good-bye....

Not much of a shake-up...more like a gentle stirring

Hahaha you really seem to despise this Rollins fella, who is he???
Cant wait for this match Wednesday, I've only just over a month left in Canada and would love to see Whitecaps wina trophy in my time here so this is the only chance and would love to beat them TFC feckers, CMON WHITECAPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

edit: Pardon the glitchiness, Youtube keeps screwing with my movies and damned if I can figure out why!

Duane Rollins is a blogger/podcaster/wind-up merchant, who loves to put down the 'Caps for not having enough Canadian or not playing the right way, as opposed to his wonderful TFC. He posts on Canadian Soccer News and seems to do a pretty good job of trolling a few people, but honestly isn't worth the time.
Apparently someone thinks the video "was done in exceptionally poor taste". Maybe he hasn't seen the Montreal one?

He's probably one of the migratory Torontonians who still maintain their befuddled bafflement at the idea that the centre of the universe is not universally respected.

Same problem with pictures of the pitch when Long Tan gets on. Or so I hear anyway.
That's a great video Kris.
Here's something else to get you in the mood.
Vancouver Whitecaps. On the "Road To Morocco" 2013.

Saturday. Pre-game turnout isn't usually enough to warrant it mid-week.

Prawnies are in ... looks like Lukas is right behind us as well!
it looks like attendance will be pretty good tonight. Just tried to get tickets in the southside and the only ones left were in 252. In comparison when I asked last week for the Edmonton game I found some right in the middle of 249 right off the bat.
Yup, this thread is empty because everyone is at the Beese.
yikes looks empty in BC place
Brutal turnout.
funny how the stadium has 3 times more people in it 30 minutes in. Wasn't this in a thread earlier complaining about fans being so late
The turnout still does not look very good. Chiumiento needs to come on for Watson ASAP. Watson is depth, nothing more, and should not be starting at home, especially when the 'caps need to attack.
How hasn't dunfield been sent off yet
Is hassli human!?!??
That was simply unreal. I love seeing stuff like that live (on tv).
OK, anyways, Hassli's miracle goal covered up a pretty poor performance.
Four thoughts:
1) Vancouver needs more out of Le Toux and Camilo, period. They both get in positions to score but do not do it enough. In particular, Le Toux should have scored on that breakaway especially considering Kocic did not cut down the angle well.
2) Toronto played really well. I like Ryan Johnson a lot, more than any of Vancouver's strikers. He has all the tools. With Henry and Cann looking solid, Toronto can throw a decent-looking team out there. Given the stone-cold DeMerit handball that wasn't called and the lock chance that Soolsma missed, they easily could have gone home with three goals.
3) I don't understand why Watson gets more than the rare appearance. Koffie and Chiumiento should always play over him, not to mention Thorrington and Davidson. He got worked by Dunfield tonight.
4) This will be controversial, but I think Whitecaps fans share some of the blame for the flat performance tonight. If the fans don't show they care about this cup, why should the players? The stadium was empty when the teams first came out and that did not help at all with player motivation.
Also, this was not a great game by Bonjour, but the first-team backline is not an issue with this team. Good game, by the way.
Yet another EPIC goal by Eric Hassli to get us a result. Wow. Watson was well Watson. Give the ball up then hustle and get it back. I'd rather see Koffie. Barbara was somewhat disappointing. Had a few moments but wasn't a force out there that I'd expected. Maybe I'm just expecting too much too soon. Wasn't a great performance by the Caps but we head into Toronto only needing to win instead of having to win 2-0.
In one way I'm really glad we have these V's Cup games. Eric was struggling and boy has he found his stride since Edmonton. Great way to snap a slump.
TFC does not look like a 0-8-0 team with ZERO points out of 24 in the MLS.
That is such a highlight reel goal. I hope it gets as much coverage on youtube as his previous epic one last year.
Hey guys here are my two cents
(a) Martin Rennie deserves some negative comments for the tactics he put on, he played too conservative for the win and by putting Watson in the midfield, and Barbara up front, we weren't generating any chances. I would leave Watson and Barbara on the bench next time for an important home game.
(b) Any saavy tacticional coach would've made changes after the 20 minute mark and it was 0-0 tie..Toronto's tactics were the counter attack and clog the midfield and they did a great job at doing it. I saw the Toronto goal coming, since it looked like both teams were playing like shite, but Toronto had nothing to lose and thus generated a great chance to score and did and were lucky not to score more.
(c) Why do we get timid refs or imcompetent semi-pro refs for this competition. Are the Canada refs trained here to think its played like a hockey game? Cuz I saw a few times that both team deserved more yellows than was given out and Terry Dunfield should've gotten a red for man handling Chumiento in one of those plays. Glad we shipped that castoff to TFC
(d) Eric Hassli should've started from the start, the man can generate better chances then most and can score timely goals at will.
(e) I think Toronto is still beatable even if they tied us at home. There not as good as us, but if I were Rennie, I would go all out attack and not play a defensive counter attack formation at BMO field maybe play an attacking 4-2-3-1 formation.
Edit: Got ahead of myself with the formation :p..Damn still pissed about the Tie..We should've beaten them at home and forced them to beat us at BMO
Hassli is unreal. He has been stepping up to the umpteenth degree. That was an amazing strike. Chiumiento looked great when he came in...wish he would have started.
The reffing was unbelievably poor, and the crowd was one of the most lackluster I've seen this season. Even the Coldplay and Canucks nights were more lively/a bigger draw. 15 min before kickoff most of the stadium was empty. Tons of randoms in the upper half of 249. Some sitting down, on their phones for the entire match, others chatting loudly, not even watching what was going on.
Bring on Saturday!
