In the original it's, "who doesnt jump is not a Bremer (fan, or more accurately citizen, of Bremen)"
We could do something like
"Those who jump support the Whitecaps Hey! Hey!"
It's a great way of getting the extra noise from jumping up and down in the stands. Really gets the blood pumping
There's the example out of Germany

We're Vancouver Whitecaps,Oh! We're Vancouver Whitecaps,We're Vancouver Whitecaps, Evermore~~~~.Hey!~~~~ Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!(and repeat)

Have we ever tried "Saints go marching in?" Obviously just switch in Caps for Saints and your done. I know some may associate it with other clubs but I think it could get a decent number of newbies to join in. It sounds really good at Spurs when done slow.
Oh and for Omar Salgado, we could do Tom Jone's "Delilah"
Oooo...OOoo....Maaaaaarrrrrrrr......SALGADO! (lalalaadeededaaaaa) x2
So before, you start to cheer some more
Omar Salgado is coming to add to the score!
What's even better is that the original song sounded kinda mariachi like, suiting his ethnicity :D

With that in mind, I was looking up Vegalta Sendai (sadly, the club closest to the earthquake epicentre in Japan), and came across a simple chant to the theme of Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It Anymore".It's a bit simplistic, but what would you all think of chanting the following to this tune:We're Vancouver Whitecaps,Oh! We're Vancouver Whitecaps,We're Vancouver Whitecaps, Evermore~~~~.Hey!~~~~ Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!(and repeat)
And BTW, those are Sendai's supporters at an away match.

We could always reply with that!

"Hopp Southside" or "Hopp Whitecaps"?
i tihnk someone posted this (cant find it anymore). so easy to pick up on, and would rattle any team.
Who the fuck are (insert team name)?
Who the fuck are (insert team name)?
Who the fuck are (insert team name)?
See the Caps go marching on, on, on.
here's the original bit that I think could be adapted... at least until we move to BC Place
"Eastside meets Westside downtown.
No time, no line, the walls fall down.
Can't you feel it coming? EMPIRE!
Can't you hear it coming EMPIRE!"

If we go with this one, should we do a few verses as a tribute to Sendai and Japan. Something like this:
"Sendai and Japan
Oh! Sendai and Japan
We are thinking of you
Fight On!!!
Hey Hey Hey Hey"
Just a tought. maybe start off with these lyrics then go into the whitecaps!! Thoughts???

GoF said:Noticed the Celtic fans have been singing a version of Depeche Mode's "Just Can't Get Enough". It sounds brilliant at the games.
Their lyrics are:
When I see you Celtic, I go out of my head
I just can't get enough, I just
can't get enough
All the things you do to me and all the things you said
I
just can't get enough, I just can't get enough
We slip and slide and we
fall in love and I just can't seem to get enough of
du du du du du du du
du du du du
(repeat several times)
Here it is:
I'd propose the following changes:
When I see the Whitecaps, I go out of my head
I just can't get enough, I just
can't get enough
All the things they do to me and all the things we've said
I
just can't get enough, I just can't get enough
Here in the Southside, I'm falling in love and I just can't seem to get enough of
du du du du du du du
du du du du
Edit - dunno what's up with the spacing in this but you get the idea!
Something that would look good to other fans, a simple chant that will engage the whole crowd and a chant that can be used to start up a famous white caps chant.....I have see this done in many places around the world and in many different formats.......
"Stand up if you love the Caps!"
Yes its that simple, once the other fans from other sections of the stadium see all the southsiders slowly standing up it will cause a bit of a stir and other people will slowly join in and start to stand up and when we have everyone stood up we can start a more traditional white caps chant with everyone standing up, this is best used during dull moments of the game or when the team is losing to show our support to the team, because we all know this is going to be a long road for success
Also what is a footie chant without having rhytmic clapping to the chant!
And also one for the captain
There is only one Jay Demerit
only one Jay Demerit
Walking along
Singing a song
Walking in a Demerit wonder land!
krisaug5 said:We should have chants for the Individual players as well...
I like the Hop Schwiz idea, how about just HASS-LI to the same beat for him?
Also I know in alot of european countries when they announce the starting eleven, the PA guy announces the number and first name of the player, and the crowd yells the last name. It's a great way of showing support and also being informed who's on the field.
There's only one Jay Demerit, Only one Jay Demerit , walking along , singing a song walking in a whitecaps wonder land!!!!
Who's that tw*t from scarborough?!
Who's that Money grabbing whore?!
Dwayne DeRosario is his name
And he Hasn't got a brain
And he won't be winning trophies anymore!
(could change it to just DeRosario and ignore the Dwayne if it sounds better.)

Erocco said:Guys,
I am Greek and Greece after Brazil and Argentina Greece has the most passionate fans at club level. I've experienced many football games mostly in Greece and I am telling you there, the fans in a football game are considered the 12th player on the field. Anyways, if we here in Vancouver can be half as passionate as the fans in most European leagues it will be great.
I watch tons of football fan videos on YouTube and the following videos could translate into a tradition just before kick-off here in Vancouver for our Whitecaps. It will happen once and like I said just before kick-off. It is a very simple chant and involves everyone in the stadium.
Basically there 2 guys in the center of the field to initiate the start of the chant. One guy is holding a big drum and the other guy is banging on the drum. The banging of the drum happens slow to start and faster towards the end. At this point everyone in the stadium has their arms up clapping and shouting the name of the team every time the the guy in the middle bangs at the drum. In our case it could be WHITECAPS or VANCOUVER but I prefer Whitecaps.
First video is the chant I am talking about from 8:55 to 9:40. Second video from 0 to 30 is same chant but from the center of the field to give you and idea what the drummer and the holder of the drum are doing. Tell me what you think and can we can pull it off?
