My point:
I moved to Vancouver from Calgary in 1994, I'm not lying when I say this, I fell in love with this city and everything about it instantly (by that I mean within the first week). It does happen, and no matter what the world presented me, unemployment, death in the family, loneliness, insert any hardship here ___________ that never changed. I ceased to be an Albertan and became a Vancouverite, I don't even consider Calgary my home any more and I grew up there.

If you're willing to take that bet, I also have some great property for you in Nunavut...

mayday said:Had some after game drinks after last nights Man City game at a small local wine bar w my girl and her girlfriend. Davide and Eric came in and had some wine and dinner at the bar. After they finished dinner we asked to get a photo w all our Whitecaps gear on and they were great. They were really friendly. Davide is my girls favourite player, so they talked for a while. Before I knew it the wine bar was closed I had been talking to Eric for an hour. The girls wanted to go out for another drink w the them but I said they had to get ready for San Jose so we left them w handshakes, a couple photo's and great conversation.Great guys, genuine. From talking to Eric I learned he really loves Vancouver and the supporters.......he doesn't want to go back to Europe. The one thing I tried to impress on him is the importance of the Cascadia Cup. He's in complete agreement.Unreal, it just seemed like talking to a friend about football. Class acts!!

yeah the last couple have been about an hour's notice, so this was good.
Can't be bothered dragging my arse off the couch and watch my stream of the darts to go to Richmond though.
Pity as I'm wanting all my Upper Deck cards signed and he's one of them!

WhitecapsFutbol said:This is my imitation of "Old Fan" ... "I think that the entire Whitecaps team actually secretly hate this city and would rather die than to spend another season here,. and they are conspiring to demolish BC place so that the team is eventually moved to Miami where its hot and it doesn't rain... and because of that soccer will loose popularity and eventually be banned province wide because it was threatening the popularity of the BC Lions.. so we might as well stop watching and supporting this team now."

Caps just posted this again on their FB account. Now, if only Richmond was closer, I could go school Leathers.
Bad_Gones said:I saw Jay DeMerit in his Camaro (http://lockerz.com/s/117382095) coming out of Stanley Park yesterday. I was driving over to the North Shore at the time ... which was probably a good thing. I don`t think he`d have thought being chased down by a middle aged guy in a Subrau was too cool.
Did I mention the top was down on the Camaro? Very cool ride.

The one thing I learned at the car show this weekend (besides the fact that SPF 30 isn't nearly strong enough for areas of skin that rarely see sun) is the difference between '67 -'68- '69 Camaros. Greg is so proud. :-P

Love DeMerit's ride! Sic! (I think that's what the kids are saying these days). Sue, I've got a friend who's looking to sell his '69ish Cougar if you're in the market for one. Bad Gones, would you consider the Intermechanica repicas they build in town? http://www.intermeccanica.com I haven't seen any players driving them but I would get one in my garage if I had the cash.

Sorry to bring this thread even further off topic, but SPF 30 is generally enough - most people just don't put enough on. You're better off wearing lots of SPF 30 then a small amount of SPF 90.

Personally, I'd rather be in a 69 E-type Jag
