To counter-balance some of the more negative comments on here, I'd like to offer a different view of things.
I believe we will win wednesday, spurred on by a glorious goal by Hassli.
I feel the Whitecaps will slowly get better as the season progesses. The playoffs are a long-shot now but not impossible.
Tommy Soehn will finally get it right and we will get our first away win at San Joe, (which i will witness in person.)
We will get a big signing soon, possibly Shevchenko.
Whitecaps will see a slight dip in season ticket sales next year, but still stay strong overall.
Here is my cheery outlook on things, thank you for reading.
The "doom and gloom" is also 500+ passionate supporters standing behind the net yelling and singing for a full 90. I'm in my 40's; when I get home my knees are sore from bouncing, my shirt is drenched in sweat, my throat is sore from singing so loud, my shoulder is sore from waving a flag, I usually have a pounding headache from yelling, and my heart is either aching or full of joy. An opinion that varies from yours isn't wrong nor doom and gloom. I'm pretty sure if I played Keeper for the Caps people would have a pretty negative opinion of my skill. Just because you ignore the shit on your shoe, others can still smell it.Montana said:Having a little optimism is definitely more enjoyable than the constant doom and gloom...

Buddy was one of the biggest Tietur Haters, he has a position to defend having told all that would read endless rants culminating how Tommy Soehn would just tweak the lineup and formation and all would be well.
moosemaniac said:so many doom and gloom threads right now i thought i would keep the positives in here.
we have 9 league games left at home, looking at the opposition i reckon we should be able to get a few more wins.
in no particular order we have still have home games against
columbus
chicago
houston
d.c. utd
colorado
portland
seattle
real salt lake
l.a. galaxy
reckon we could get 10 to 12 points from those first 6 on the list.
just 1 away win and a draw and we could end up with close to 30 pts.
i' m sure most would consider that acceptable in our first season

With the crumbling of team chemistry under Soehn; I would not expect to see more than one or two wins for the rest of the year. Sad, but this is what we are faced with.

Soehn may not be as bad as I think he is but he is no where near as good as he thought he was!rodderzzz said:
I support the whitecaps mate, not individuals, like a proper fan. However, Soehn isn't as bad as you make him out.
Speaking optimistically...
Our best winger is eighteen years old. Our best central midfielder is nineteen. Our most expensive player is one of the league's best all-round forwards. Our captain is an ace central defender who could start for any team he wanted. Every one of those four players I just listed puts in a consistent effort and is never willing to let the team lose.
The city is filled with fans like us who care enough about the Whitecaps to be angry instead of writing them off. Attendance will go down in 2012. There won't be sell-outs in BC Place. But there'll be sustainable excitement. There'll be atmosphere. There'll be the Whitecaps realizing what a core of die-hard fans and supporters means to a team.
Tom Soehn will probably be out of harm's way by 2012.
