Here is where you should post and talk about new chant ideas.

Rules:

1) If you have a new chant please post it here. If it is derived from a popular song please feel free to link to that song in youtube.

2) Please be mindful and considerate other peoples efforts.

3) If you dislike someone's chants please be constructive and offer recommendations how to improve it.

4) If you are not a Whitecaps supporter please do not post here. Rival team posts will be moderated.

Hints:

1) Keep it simple. Most successful chants are only a few lines long.

2) Keep it witty

3) Please be cautious of personal attacks against our players, coaching and office staff. Our forum is read by the press and members of the general public and comments here can very easily be misunderstood. Chants that can be seen as a threat against a local personality are risky for our appearance.

Noticed the Celtic fans have been singing a version of Depeche Mode's "Just Can't Get Enough". It sounds brilliant at the games.

Your idea to use this old Canadian classic (link above) is great! I almost peed my pants with laughter when I read your lyrics and listened to this song. I remember as a kid in elementary school, needing to learn these goofy songs, that's why it resonates with me !

I'd like to e-mail you a few proposed revisions to your lyrics so that the syllables match a bit better and to make the lyrics a bit easier to remember.

@Gof - I was watching Aberdeen @ Celtic last week and was thinking the same thing. The tune sounded brilliant. No if we could only get our lost to sing in time instead of rushing the tempo then we could have fun with this one. Be good to practice on the bus down to Seattle

Any idea if there's going to be a club song? I know most teams in Germany have a club song. I'm partial to Werder Bremen's myself. They have a couple they sing at the games shortly before the players walk out

Also, what are they going to play while the teams walk out onto the pitch?

The Caps were talking about an official club song last year. We even recorded one for them but they didn't want to use it in the end

I would say that not so much a club song but a song that pumps up the crowd thats the norm around most North America sports. I wonder if White is the color will be shelved for good or a bit ? I liked the Proclaimers version

This season whatever chants are done will require many more iterations than in years past. Might take awhile for it to spread through our vast sections.

My god, the old "white is the color" song sounds so trivial & hokey compared the patriotic Lebenslang grün-weiß (Life Long Green & White) Interesting how it is the melody more than words which can convey emotion. I don't think that we should "exhume" that old "White is the color".

I like the old "white is the colour" from when I was a kid. Have taught it to my 5 & 4 year old boys. They will be disappointed if they don't hear it when they go to the game. I came across the proclaimers version awhile ago and love it, didn't realize they had done that. If it helps any, the original was recorded @ the historic mushroom studios. As bad as it sounds, evidently the first attempts were much worse , because the boys were taken to the No. 5 Orange for a few pops to loosen up, then went back to the studio and got it in one.

Re: the Celtic "I just Can't Get Enough" chant.

Funny so many others noticed this too ... I've been talking about it for a few weeks. Brilliant tune, especially for those of us of a certain age.

I found these lyrics for the same tune that Liverpool uses for Suarez. I like the chants that single out players myself, and this one fits the bill. Lyrics of course would need some work ...

We could do something like

It's a great way of getting the extra noise from jumping up and down in the stands. Really gets the blood pumping
