Found a stream of Montpellier HSC (last years league winner) against Toulouse FC. Currently 1 - 0 for Montpellier shortly after halftime.
BTW - This site has streams (usually many to choose from) of damn near every game you would want to watch. I watch most Whitecaps games this way since I live down in the US.
Wow, ok this is worth mentioning.
The game is now tied 1-1, and Toulouse has had 2 red cards in the last 10 minutes for bad tackles.
It's great to see a new champion in a league as "big" as the French one. Lille a few years ago, and Toulouse last year . . . they can't keep their biggest names, but that doesn't mean that they can't compete domestically with Paris SG, Olympique Marseille, and Olympique Lyon. Now if only FC Nantes could get back into the top flight . . .
I agree - it's cool to see a team without a massive payroll compete with the rich clubs. The quality of the play is always really good too, so I quite like watching L1 games.
I don't normally follow Ligue 1 very closely, but the run Toulouse had last year changed that. Love seeing the (underdog? minnow?) beating out the giants.
Elisant - I agree, the quality of play was a pleasure to watch.
Been following OL since 2005, so I'm probably the wrong one to talk about "underdogs" and "minnows". Agree the quality of footy has been top notch the last couple seasons. Just wish there was better coverage on Canadian channels. Following internet streams can get a little old.
Another big win by Saint-Etienne over Paris Saint-Germain!
Earlier this month in league play, and today after a 0-0 draw on penalties in the Coupe de la Ligue to make it to the Semi-Finals!
Allez les Verts!
France's Ligue 1 is a fad.
Am I doing it right?

100% right.
You're TEACHING people how to troll now? Awesome!
Interesting - Lille and Mickaël Landreau decided to end their contract effective immediately. That's not something you see too often, a competitive team walking away from their starting goalkeeper mid-season.

Landreau, who had played 119 consective L1 games for Les Dogues, had a further season to run on his deal with the club.

Bah. Pretty even game, but we gave up a goal off a set piece after Lyon when down a man. A couple late chances, but Les Verts couldn't pull even...
OL now clear at the top of the table, but ASSE still in 4th.

Not sure if we'll ever learn the lurid details of his departure from Lille, but it looks like he has joined Bastia (Ligue 1 - currently in 13th place) after apparently turning down a move to Inter Milan.
I lost interest in Ligue 1 when Monaco got relegated. Hopefully they'll get promoted soon, as it's almost impossible to watch Ligue 2 from Vancouver!
Ninth round (les 32èmes de finale) of the Coupe de France this weekend. (Division levels in hard brackets were added by me; there could be some mistakes.)

They were knocked out of this season's Coupe de France by a club recently promoted from the amateur fourth division.
