Hi folks. After a few tweets and emails i am finding a few people are staying for the Mariners Twins game after the caps spank the sounders. Any ideas on whether we should coordinate a section to sit in?
I was hoping there was a section 86 but there is not.
Maybe it best if we all just meet at the stadium box office and buy the tickets together? VanCity Villa, Mitch, Woosang are also thinking of going to the Mariners on the 18th.
Mrs. Bad Gones & I are in.

Ya we can probably just play it by ear unless they are doing some kind of a promotion.
Yes, I was talking to my buddies about it. We haven't decided it yet but we were thinking about it. We shouldn't have a problem buying tickets at the box office that day and I think you should be able to buy get decent seats for less than $30/ticket.
There are always scalpers, which may give you the best seat for your buck
Tickets at Safeco go up on the day of the game, so you may actually want to purchase them ahead of time. While there are a TON available right now on Ticketmaster, the cheapest ones in the 100 level are still going for about $35 + fees. The cheapest are the LF and CF bleachers, but you're stuck on a bench, and are quite removed from everything. The 300 level seats aren't too bad, but if you have a fear of heights, I don't recommend them.
My favourite seats are the ones along the first base side, between about 115 and 119. They used to be about $35/seat, but now set you back $55. Frustrating when the Mariners aren't a competitive team.
Stubhub may have better deals closer to the day, but in my experience, they don't drop too much at Safeco. Scalpers aren't a bad idea, but you'll have a hard time getting a block of seats from them. Another option is to get a group of 40+ together and get the group rates - much cheaper for 100 level seats ($20-35pp).
One of the other things you can do is to grab a cheap seat and then hang out in the Bullpen Pub in left centre field. It is usually quite busy though, and unless you get in there right when gates open, you may not have a great vantage point.
I've bought off of scalpers the last couple of times I've gone down and had no problems getting 4 tickets together for cheap. Personally I like walking around and not sitting in the same area for the entire 9 innings
If felix Hernandez is pitching for the Mariners, check out the Kings Court section. looks like the fans really get into it (for baseball).
Six of us got tickets in section 152 out beside the bullpens. I haven't been to Safeco before, but I've heard the views are good from pretty much everywhere. I'm looking forward to chilling out and sitting after being on my feet all afternoon. :)
Anyone gonna wear Whitecaps or Southsiders colors during the Mariner game ?
I can't believe how expensive hotels are in downtown Seattle the weekend of Aug 17/18 nothing for under $200/ night. I've tried Hotwire, Expedia, everything but to no avail. Jeez, New York City is the same price for F sake!! $-)

Cruise ship season.
It's pretty crazy, I usually get a 4 star on hotwire for around $100, when i go to Seattle. If you don't mind waiting until the last minute, I would book on hotwire or priceline the day you head down there.
Hotel prices are crazy in Seattle this time of year. I gave up trying to find a good deal once I saw my usual hotels (Maxwell, Warwick) were all over $200+. Then I noticed that the top rated hotels (excluding the Four Seasons) hadn't upped their prices, so thought sod it... Booked into the Olive 8 for little more than the Warwick. Know I'll a least get more of my money's worth!
