PDJ, I agree that we are stronger with Rochat at LB. I'm of the opinion that we should be changing like for like, because a switch disrupts two positions rather than one. I'd sub in Carlyle at CB if De Merit or Bonjour is injured, but that doesn't appear to be Rennie's opinion. Last year Soehn and or Thordarson (mabye both, I forget) put Rochat at CB too rather than play a natural CB there. They're the pros, I'm the armchair fan.

Of course, I'd be rotating Carlyle, Harvey, and Klazura in once in a while, to (a) develop them; (b) rest the older legs; and (c) keep everyone sharp and committed to training, with the knowledge that they could be playing that week. It's great to say "we're going to reward guys who work hardest in training", but at some point will people who never get a game be expected to drop their compete level during practice? Or think privately the things that Long Tan expressed privately? I would think so. Maybe there's just too much "youth coach" in me, and that causes me to favour letting everyone get some playing time. Cheers.
