Tweets by Pete Schaad almost take it as given. Roster maneouvering to open spots and space. Rennie assumedly not transferring our most creative player without someone else coming in.
Goal.com is reporting an incoming player early next week
#OldFansInterestingWeek
Ignoring any lack of depth, which position would we need a DP for? I would think a left winger who can cross and beat the defense down the side - a la healthy 2012 Omar. Or do we just bide our time at that position until he is healthy?
I don't think we need a new DP. Can't remember who said it, but there was a tweet that suggested the new signing would be from South America and in his early 20's.

Nope! the player will be Swiss, Jamaican, or Scottish :)
How about a falkland islander?!?! I am not getting too excited about this. After Jarju I will wait and see. If they are talking a younger player it may not be a dp.
per twitter
@ProvinceWeber Worst kept secret is that the Whitecaps will add an international forward this coming week. No names yet. #MLS
@tylergreen1040 No names but #Whitecapsfc expected to announce an international signing this week back in #Vancouver. Begin the rumor mill
@tylergreen1040: Rumor #1 @MikeMartignago made the point that del Piero follows just 2 people on twitter - one is his good friend Steve Nash
@tylergreen1040: Rumor #2 - Word was the #whitecapsfc were close last season before his resurgence with Everton. His name is Louis Saha

We did get rid of half our French players yesterday. Maybe it is Saha to bring the French quotient back up.
or maybe it's time to take the Icelandic flags out of storage... Eidur Gudjohnsen anyone?

Not coming to north America. Kids are in the Barca academy and he stated he wanted to stay in Europe
one thing we have learned from caps is that whom ever we think its going to be is not who its going to be hahah but from a business perspective this is the time for caps to spend some money they are tied for third in the west and a fan base that is becoming engaged who knows what next year could bring they really gotta put this team into overdrive cause u never know what the future will bring..

I will hand in my two season tix if that would happen. Seriously.
Rumours in South Wales linking Kenny Miller (currently at Cardiff City) with a move to Vancouver. Anything in the media about this in Canada?

Haven't seen anything here about him, but on first glance, other than being Scottish, I don't see much plus for us bringing in an older striker who would likely be fairly expensive, by MLS standards.
Canadian Soccer news is reporting 'BREAKING - Del Piero to Montreal : More than a rumour', so expect for him to sign elsewhere tomorrow :P
Looks like its going to be Kenny Miller! http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footballnation/football-news/2012/07/14/vancouver-whitecaps-move-to-sign-cardiff-city-striker-kenny-miller-91466-31396331/

Robson's now the captain? I can't take these rumours seriously if they can't get the basic facts straight.

At least they didn't call us the Vancouver Rapids.

Makes me think of these websites where Bert is photoshopped in photos ... Maybe we should do that with Soehn for some fun
I`d prefer we photoshopped him out of all our pictures...trying to forget that dark period of our history!

I am the sucker that has a Gambian flag kicking around that I rushed to the Flag Shop to purchase for way too much $$ when that signing was announced.
Hope he had a one way ticket, then again we don't want to add to Africa's problems. Economic hardship and famine are bad enough.
While we're on the subject of Soehn, smiled when I read this naming him as a Whitecaps PLAYER.

As the two clubs are on each others speed-dial, the best options available for the Caps in the FC Zurich squad are defenders Phillipe Koch and Ludovic Magnin as well as striker Armine Chermiti. Koch is only 21 but has played for the club over 60 times as well as being part of the Switzerland u21 squad. Magnin is a pre-dominatly a left-back but can be used in other areas of the back-line and midfield. He has played for Werder Bremen, Stuttgart and Zurich and has 63 caps for Switzerland. Chermiti is a Tunisian forward who would be a slight upgrade over Camilo minus the free-kicks, he has 9 goals in 40 appearances and was involved in the 2006 World Cup.
Would I be the only one not surprised if Hassli went back to Zurich to play with Chiumiento at the end of the season? especially with the lack of forwards in the Swiss League..

Yes, it wouldn't be a shock of Eric goes back over there. He and the club will have to make some hard decisions in the off season about his future.
No secret now, just wonder when the rest of the national side arrives?
Fynnsky said: So is that the end of our transfer window fun? Since he is a DP, I assume that sucks up all the cap space and magical allocation money we had.
I wouldn't think so. MR said even before Chiumi left they had some wiggle room to add a player. Chiumiento's cap hit was about 300k. Miller's will only be 175k as DP for half a season. Throw in the allocation money for Le Toux and Davide and losing Franks, Tan and Boxall there must be room for another, if minor, move.

I doubt Rennie is done. There may be a bit more movement before this month is done.; but probably nothing major.
One more move, methinks. Not this major, but a decent pick-up.
Mark Wilson. Gotta be. If it's not Scottish it's crap! :)
I think we're short an international spot anyway. However, Charlie Mulgrew has (or can get) a Canadian passport through one of his parents.
I'm still holding out for Adam Moffat! :x
