MVP to Joe Cannon, only because it's tough for me to single one guy out of a pretty impressive back line.
Joe Cannon. No matter how good the back 4 have been, he's been there to shut down so many attempts that have gotten through, and plenty have been hugely athletic and acrobatic. Our defense has been great, but the buck stops at #1.

Unsung: Davidson
Tenpted to go with Le Toux as unsung. Lots of folks down on him because he hasn't been scoring that much and his passing's been off, but his defensive contributions are a big part of those clean sheets.
Joe Cannon has saved at least one shot each game, that would have been a goal last year. How can you put a value on that?
Who else? Joe Cannon.

Chalk me up as a hater.
MVP is Joe Cannon by a pretty clear margin so far.
Koffie is making a good push for unsung as well. Has been steadily improving every match it seems. Is an important part of every match he plays.
MVP:Joe Cannon. It's all there in that compilation...literally
Unsung: Koffie
Sung & honorable mention: Chiumiento

Ditto from me.
Cannon has to take it. Often that's a bad thing, and means you're team is not doing well, but in this case it's because he has been responsible for so many points that the Caps have won.
Across both the back and the middle almost everyone has been MOTM at some point, and perhaps that's a good thing.
Cannon of course has been key. Especially as we have struggled to score.
Unsung: Davidson/Koffie
Personal favourite Whitecap: Bonjour - the guy is a dude.
Plucky terrier award: Thorrington
Ya, Cannon has been by far the most consistent performer for the team. So I will jump on the Cannon for MVP bandwagon. Unsung is close but Chumiento wins it for me because he picked up the defensive side of the game and has showed a lot of hustle. I'm still annoyed by Davidson's flop in Toronto so I couldn't give him the nod.

He probably just slipped on the wet field! I mean, there was a raindrop in London that day.
The acknowledged incompetence of MLS officials doesn't justify flopping like a douche. Got way more respect for Robson after that than I do for Davidson.

yep!
Joe Cannon, i'd hate to think where we would be without his class. I'd also like to nominate him for classiest cap.
Joe is going to win for most valuable player, classiest cap, and shortest shorts.
It isn't a grudge. The fact that he flopped LIKE a douche isn't enough for me to say that he is definitely a douche, but it doesn't help his cause. If he reacts differently in a similar situation in the future, I'll revise my opinion.
I've moved on. I like how davidson works with our team, and I think he is one of our most unsung players(btw everyone is saying that...so i guess that is not true anymore). However, if someone is referencing the TFC game and that incident, I will agree with them that davidson was flopping around like a douche(obviously this is a bit exagerated) And I for one love how Robson did not do that in the same circumstance.
I find this attitude disturbing. We encourage players to meet these ridiculous expectations we set out for them, and then chastise them when they do "whatever it takes" to meet them. I'm not saying that I agree with what Davidson did, but that I understand fully why he did it.
Time to move on children.
Breaking news: different people have different opinions on how the game should be played.

Actually, it seems that everyone here has a different set of expectations and criteria for meeting those expectations. So while I would dock points for Davidson in an unsung hero vote, others here wouldn't. That doesn't mean that I don't value his contribution to the team because I had him ranked up there with Chumiento and Koffie like most people have. This whole thing is a random exercise in subjectivity anyways.
oh, and what Chris said. :)
Back on track, Chumiento's attitude change has been awesome this year. Everyone thought he was on his way out at the end of last year because he was being benched...hopefully the same thing happens to Hassli.

I guess I'm bothered by the term "douche" more than others. Seems disproportionate to the crime. But agreed ... different strokes different folks. Apologies if I came across as feeling otherwise.
My unsung hero: Thor. (although there was an earlier "Plucky Terrier" award for him). He's been solid for the minutes he's played.
Not to untrack things, but whining to the ref, not getting the call, then pointing your finger at the guy while the ref is between you is classy? JMD was over the top - Robson should've reacted and it shouldve been a red card. Crying to the ref for a call gets you nothing. JMD should've fallen and got right back up. It's no different then acting like a throw in is yours and picking up the ball and restarting on a 50-50 call.
I'd say Zemanski is a douche for not going to the ref and saying "no no, that went of me it should be a corner" on the Robson free kick that everyone except the ref saw go off Zemanski. What a douche!
I'm kidding - love Zemanki's game.
Slamo...I guess that's the gist of it for me and quite possibly Chris and others as well...if Davidson had flopped, got the call, then got up and not rolled around in a manner that could accurately be described as "douch-like" it would have been a different story. The flop was one thing, when you add the ridiculous theatrics after it was way too much and embarrassing. And yeah...Cannon for mid season mvp.
Ok,time to move onto bigger and better things!2 people can look at the same thing and have different opinions about it.Each will stand by their viewpoint and that is alright by me.All I am saying is how long will you hold us to this thought? It is what it was and chuckle about it and lay it to rest.I am sure the Toronto crowd will play it up on Wed.,so just laugh !You make it sound like his actions gave the Whitecaps a black eye or worse and we will never be taken seriously again.Maybe if something like this happens again we should time it to see how long it takes and the referee can come over and count him out if it takes longer than 10 seconds for him or any other player to pop up to his feet.Smile!Anyway, nothing will smooth this out as he has ruffled plenty of feathers of many. When he makes a play for the Whitecaps that leads to a victory, just turn around in shame.Repeat-Cannon MVP ,Davidson Unsung Hero.
Yes, Joe Cannon. Honourable mentions to Y P Lee, Rochat , Gersh and Chumiento. Tho all the above are worthy candidates. Its kinda bittersweet that we can't nominate a striker for leading the West in goals scored. Baby steps i guess, Baby steps.
