Great ball from Sinclair to just a perfect finish on that goal.
And damn Chapman with a beautiful body check on Wambach.

Did you think any particular play should have been called differently? I think we were lucky not to get a penalty kick called on us when wambach went down.

Not like the referee had anything to do with the USA's pressure towards the end. They were simply having their way with us.

On the upside our goal was top class. We played well overall ... the Americans are just a step or two more skilled.

The Americans certainly outplayed Canada, but that doesn't mean the officiating wasn't a shame.

In a weird way, both teams deserved to win: the United States controlled the play, the Canadians scored more goals on the field.

Which time? The announcers kept saying that she wasn't the type to go down easily, but she seemed to be flopping around to me.

If you're referring to the where our defender was carded for the contact in the box when the play was out wide, that wouldn't be a PK as it was nowhere near the play and didn't involve the ball. Looked to me that Wambach just ran into our defender, who was a bit vigorous with her bracing for the impact.

Though the Canadian game plan was to sit back and absorb based on no one pressuring the ball in the American half - so saying US controlled play means absolutely nothing. I don't think the US has the adaptability to win gold in my opinion. Someone will "surprise" them even though they controlled the play. Canada will most likely finish third in their group and face the US in the knockout round - if they don't beat them it will certainly be a knock down affair. I don't think Canada has a medal in them without a bit of luck, but I do think the team that gets them in the first knockout game won't win gold.

Yeah, I lost a lot of respect for her in WOQ. Biggest flopper I've seen live. Her and Cheney are shit as far as I'm concerned. They certainly turned the crowd against them in the semi here with their behind the play cheap shots and flopping.

If we play them in the Olympics, I hope our girls rally and send them home. If the Americans get knocked out of the tournament, I want us to do the knocking.

Great performance by the women today. Weathered the initial storm from the US and if not for an own goal by moscato, a draw was surely in the cards. Felt like the yanks were always going to find something in the end. If that's how we look against the world's #1, I have high hopes for the olympics.

There is a custom webpage for my company (maybe all sponsors got this?) that has a bunch of the CWNT stuff:

Nothing that you can't find elsewhere on the site, but it's all organized nicely.

Adidas uses old designs for the MLS team kits. They better not stick the Caps with a design like that for next year

I hope not. The pink "zipper" up the centre has to be one of the worst things I've ever seen on a jersey.

"Would you like some fries with that slide tackle?"

Well, if you're going to lose to the World Champions, doing it by only one goal isn't the worst thing that could happen. If we can tie Sweden we have a good shot at second in the group.

Those Japanese kits really bother you? Oh right ... know nothing about fashion. Forgot. All kidding aside they may not be my faves but what's so offensive about them. They obviously aren't hindering their play.

You're joking, right? It's the group stage - 3 groups - top 2 in each group plus next 2 best teams go through. If you want to go with one game as the deciding factor, we would go through on GD right now.

Canada down 2-1 at halftime. Great start with several chances, couldn't connect on any of them. Sweden banged in their first, second and only chances of the half. Tancredi got one back near half time.

I am admittedly new to the following of the Canadian Women's National Team. I therefore think it is unrealistic that we will not be in the quarter-finals right now. The most realistic scenario that would knock the Canadians out requires NZ to beat Cameroon by 4 and the North Koreans to draw or beat the Americans.

They have played great today, but their finishing has let them down. A lot of balls into the box that don't end up even as a shot.
