They just showed a graphic, Seattle has a 16-3 advantage in shots, but still trailing with a bit under 20 to go.

The Hebrew Hammer Andy Gruenebaum has made some cracking saves. Best keeper in the MLS these past couple of weeks.

Meredith needed to do better, but nice crack by Renteria, and the dance and mugging for the ECS was priceless.

Renteria scored right in the middle of their "Come On Seattle Fight and Win" chant

And our loss last night wasn't a league loss. Even better. (trying to find a bright spot :D )

And I guess because LA is more our opposition than SJ at this point, it's good that LA lost. Great day yesterday!

RSL winning is a good result for us. We need to be worried about Chivas and Dallas nipping at our heels.

Exactly. We aren't likely to be catching RSL anytime soon so it's better Chivas, Dallas, etc. don't get closer.

SKC 2-1 SJE final. Love it when the east takes points from the west.

  • Decent results for us this weekend except for the Colorado vs Montreal match. Sucks that they grabbed a goal to get all the points.

No it doesn't. Anytime the Saputo lot gets beat, its a good thing. I'm not looking at this from a "that helps the Caps" standpoint until the last few weeks of the season, when things are clearer. Until then, visceral disgust still trumps logic.

The linesman in the LAG v Portland match has no idea what the rules are. So far he had called offside on a thrown in and on a backpass.

The match is also extremely hard to watch due to a massive shadow.

Shadows out of doors? That means the big sky light is out right?

Wow, Perkins gets blocked by landycakes in the box pretty badly. No call, LA scores and then Perkins gets carded. This whole match is an example of bad officiating.

    LA, not Portland.

And Pilts is right, Donovan got away with one in a big way, although I'm not certain Perkins would have got to the cross anyway.

So far my strategy in the MLS fantasy pool has been loading up on players that are playing against Toronto....think it might backfire this week.

TFC needs so much work. I like that Johnson Kovermans pairing up front, Kocic plays well and you could do worse than Hall and Morgan on the wings but beyond that, ouch... They started a mediocre fullback and an 18 year old at center back and they subbed on a winger to play as a center midfielder when trying to hold a lead. They might release 10-12 guys this post-season and no one would argue.

Bahaha, how did they do that? TWO goal lead? Sigh TFC.

Poor TFC - the schedule has aligned against them....yesterday was the 3rd match in a brutal 10 game, five week, Saturday/Wednesday slog that would exhaust any team....Mariner complained after the 1st match at KC that he didn't have time to work on the attack, just some defending...good luck Paul. They only have 1tough road trip to Colorado left, but some tough matches - including hosting the Caps...we should really plan to take advantage of their tired legs. Mariner is taking a lot of stick for his tactics, but Frings already seems in the tank, a tad disinterested, they have injuries, probably have a few card suspensions by the time we show up. You have to dig the Koev...the guy always gets a few decent chances every match- he's a goal sniffer. We (collective) basically lost our minds after 1 whipping last night - imagine being a TFC fan!

As the Bocanegra talks heats up, one reason the Voyageurs Cup is a beauty piece of hardware, TFC got an extra ( so I read earlier this year) $300,000 allocation money for advancing in the Championship matches - and they should try hard this year - no doubt they could use that dough next year. I also wouldn't gloat too hard this year....De Guzman will be off the DP and they should take advantage of the off-season window (ala Jarju) to buy out either Frings or Koevs...that will free up $700,000... they just need someone with real smarts in the front office.

  • Only 12,357 bothered to turn up in Montreal.

This should inspire us here in Vancouver to do bigger and better here. Is there any reason we couldn't do something like that here?

  • The logistics of assembling something that big are mind-blowing to me. How many people were involved in that project? Kudos for sure though!

Who's the guy in the middle of the tifo? Portland's version of Carl Valentine?

Obviously the club would have to be involved with the rigging, and I'm not sure it's possible at all at BC Place.

Really, the only thing holding us back from doing something on that scale, though, is buy in. Don't know that we have the people willing to help out that would be necessary to pull something like that off.
