VANCOUVER -- The Vancouver Whitecaps acquired a conditional pick in the 2013 draft Wednesday from Real Salt Lake in exchange for the Major League Soccer rights to defender Chris Estridge.
The Whitecaps selected Estridge 21st overall of the 2012 MLS draft.
A product of Indiana University, the right fullback took part in the early stages of pre-season training with Vancouver before being released on Feb. 18.
I'm surprised he didn't have to go through a re-draft or something again.
I was wondering how long this would take to get posted... given who was involved, I just figured that nobody cared...
Well I care, my Estridge jersey is worthless now. :)]

Throw it in the bin with the Jarju and Harmse jerseys.
They might become worth a lot down the road. The RARE Jarju jersey... on a serious note, does anyone ACTUALLY have a Jarju jersey?
Chris Deal has a game worn one. Unless he ran out of toilet paper sometime after the SJ road game last year.
Surely it can go in the BC Sports Hall of Fame?

Are not all game worn jerseys created equal? If you prick them, do they not pill? If you tickle them, do they not warm? If you spill on them, do they not diminish? And if you wrong them, shall they not be replaced?

There, fixed that, now all we have to do is polish up Tommy's CV . . .
No surprise about this, when Klazura came in, he was practically cut. It's a shame because he's a draft pick, but he wouldn't have gotten a lot of playing time considering who was ahead of him.

Actually, he was drafted ahead of Klazura. Greg just smoked him, and some would say Harvey too . . . mark my words, barring injury, he will be a star in MLS one day.

Marked!
^Klazura or Estridge??
What impresses me with Klazura is his practise ethic. He's really still learning, always trying new things - I'm becoming a fan of his without seeing him in game action. If the rule of 10000 applies I'm sure he'll do fine - but he reminds me of Wes in that regard - stupid rule of 10000!
If we are to judge players off of twitter sounded like Estridge was never settled here (as short as it was I know). Constant bitching and moaning about the weather and the city in general got on my nerves.

I don't know if it means anything, but when the Whitecaps practice in pairs, Klazura often pairs with Sebastien Le Toux. He's also the most frequent player I see walking to practice side-by-side with Martin Rennie.
As for Estridge, he never seemed to get settled in practice. A couple of guys would go over to him, talk to him, then they'd walk away. He didn't do well in one-on-ones, or group play. He just seemed to be walking around, away from whatever was going on. Meanwhile, Klazura was excelling in individual efforts and group play. Mark Fetrow, the other defender that we drafted, did very well in group play, when paired with someone else, he had good aerial ability, good positional play, but little speed, and was vulnerable in the one-on-ones.
