It is an almost inalienable rule that the smaller the fanbase, the more pathetic and defensive it is.
The Ultras were fantastic - I love the avalanche after goals. Always been one of my favourite supporter activities. All the ones I ran into were very friendly and offered respect for making the trip. They went full 90 too - despite what is otherwise an oddly quiet stadium. Until the 85 minute mark when everyone starts to leave.
They looked pretty good on TV as well, they look small though. Probably just the picture or the size of the stadium. Still, very passionate, loud supporters from the looks of it.
Did you see the guy in the Ultras after the first SJ goal ... lifts his shirt and reveals about a 4" long scar on his belly! Scary looking dude too.
Agree with slamo, the Ultras were terrific.
Crew Union (Columbus)
Are the 'Hudson Street Hooligans' the outfit that got slapped by West Ham a few years ago in a friendly?
Why do they have yellow sex dolls in their group?
Footy said: ^ Cause all the green ones got sold to Vancouver silly :P
Because clearly I'm in favour of those ... :-/
I liked the custom Iron Man mask.

which are on the prohibited list at BC Place....don't you just love consistency from the MLS grounds :-\"

Meet The Timbers Army
Class. Pure class.
I know that "You Are My Sunshine" is their thing. Any thought of showing support by joining in with them when we visit? I'm thinking "no" for a variety of reasons but figured I'd throw it out their since we have another trip there this year.

I would not mind joining them in that.
At about 2:06 you can see two old ladies in the lower left corner doing their best to keep up with the Tetris chant. I feel kinda guilty laughing at it
At 1:09 you see a guy wandering around at the back with a huge megaphone to carry the chants up the back. That would help us out no end.

My biggest "No" reason would be that while we would have the best of intentions to be joining in, I'd imagine some TA members would take offence to us taking part in such a personal chant, just as much as I imagine it would go the other way if they joined in one of our staples.
Nothing but respect for that chant, as you said, Pure class
That was one of my "No's" as well. I suppose it could be sorted by contacting the TA beforehand. If they said "thanks, but we'll do this on our own" then fine.
Could you imagine the reaction we'd get from Don Garber if this happened?
slamo said: I'd say just like last year - we give them the minute to sing and that's a good enough show of respect.
I recalled having the conversation in the forums too. Thanks Steve, forgot about that. Best way to handle it.

we threw this around last year. the consensus seemed to be, be quiet for the time that they are signing, and applaud them. That is all..
Yeah they did that for us, and in reciprocation we did it for them during the US Anthem. Atleast at the reserves match we did. I think it's a nice thing to do, and it's not a mocking thing in any way
I was doing it in a mocking way :)
A small thing, but at the MLS match we were a little slow to pick up on our national anthem. Granted, the PA system at Jell-O is horrid. But I'd suggest at future away matches the capos really focus on pre-game ceremonies and make sure we are with the anthem right at the beginning. Once we started singing, we were awesome btw.
ETA: Really great the way we all stayed quiet for the US anthem. Much better than the disrespect shown at Seattle last year.
L.A. Supporters
Please tell me I wasn't the only one who chuckled at "Chris Tucker - LA Riot Squad".
Any reason why they haven't done a video documentary about the Southsiders yet? They have one for Curva after all, why not get us some official exposure on their vids?
It kind of makes the most sense to do one about us, doesn't it?
They did "meet them" videos on the VSS last year, and do refer to them/us a lot.
Meet The Rapids Supporters
I'm thinking instead of the Galaxians the LA Supporters could call themselves the Laxatives. Rolls off the tongue better.
Not sure we'll see one about the "union ultras" (?). thought i had read somewhere that they didn't want to be part of this.
O Jesus our hello shots moment made the video... Eff

Do we have to?
You will meet them and like it. Pete Schaad went thru a lot of BS from BMO security to give us this wonderful video.
Twat alert at 1:33, I just love those types. Sooo entertaining.
Meet Real Salt Lake Supporters
Is that Rancid drummer Riot song that I could hear recorded and played in the stadium?
if you want real to score clap your hands... lol thats hilarious
Meet Some Seattle Supporters
"3000 unique members". That's an odd phrase. Is he trying to tell us that the ECS is not a Borg-like collective?
