The Sebastian Le Toux thread
  • Montana said: He may get all the penalties....as of right now, we don't know who will win the competition in camp (which is how Rennie has stated it will be decided)

That said, he's liable to miss less time due to suspension, see less attention defensively, and benefit from the passing abilities of Le Toux. (also can't forget he didn't get a proper camp with the team....this time last year, he was still a month away from signing)

Il be surprised if he doesnt crack 10 again.

I Interpreted that Rennie said penalties are game to game based on in training competitions. Also I think that our play didn't suit Hassli at all last year and he will possibly score more from open play.

  • I believe in my learning about Le Toux I came across the stat that he has never missed a penalty. Something that may certainly affect Hassli's goal total this year. I think he will have more chances from open play this year with what the team is now, so it may even out or still improve his totals.

Would it be outrageous to suggest that Eric may not have a good year ?

I never caught him saying it would be a game to game decision, in the interview.....but you may very well be right.

In this, the Le Toux thread, yeah, maybe. In the Hassli thread, probably not. Hijacker.

P.s. I think he'll have a good season. He was pretty poor the last couple of months last season but he looked knackered too. Along with the fact he didn't have a break between leagues, I reckon the amount of air travel and time zone changes took its (it's? ) toll on him.

Wow. It looks increasingly like Philadelphia coach Peter Nowak is as bad and as out to lunch as the fans there, and Sebastien Le Toux, have said:

I have to say that the MLS website gives itself massive credibility when it's willing to publish stuff like this, which makes one of its coaches look very, very bad.

Pronounced "shaw-neech", with the final 'ch' like that in 'loch'. http://juandefucaplate.ca/

I agree, that's pretty awesome of MLS to publish this stuff. Here's another bit I liked:

Two controversial referee decisions marked the Houston Dynamo’s 1-0 road win over the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday at AT&T Park. There was the penalty kick called on goalkeeper Jon Busch (“I feel it’s a little harsh,” Busch said) and the hand ball in the box not called on Houston’s Adam Moffat. Watch both instances here. (VIDEO)

Good on them for admitting there are refereeing decisions that are controversial and showing video of them. The FA pulls everything like that from public.

  • Why wouldn't the league make a big deal every time a ref screws up? They want reasons to add more accountibility to the reffing standard, or even employ the refs themselves. Right now they have little/no control regarding ref assignments. Make the current system look bad,(which it is) so they have a better claim to take control in the future. It makes the league look bush now, but they can save the day later.

It's a good point, but I don't think that's the motivation. With most professional sports leagues in North America, you don't see unbiased journalism on the actual website. MLS does a good job of not pulling punches on most topics.

Who's the man that scores on you? Le Toux! Le Toux!
He calls himself Monsieur Le Toux, THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO!
