Really worried about our squad...I think we really need a great ball winner in CM and a better winger who can deliver good balls...are there any names floating around who may be rumoured to be coming to Vancouver
I think that's the big piece of the jigsaw still missing. Not heard any firm names, but I would think that Rennie's UK scouting mission may produce one.
Football and music go hand in hand. Waste some time this Friday with our "MLS Back Catalogue" featuring one of the best ever bands to come out of the UK - The Smiths...

I blame growing up with the UK tabloids. They're now instilled in me!

Great stuff as usual GoF..
With the Olympic qualifers hours away, we talk to local lass Chelsea Buckland, former Cap Robyn Gayle, Head Coach John Herdman and our very own Brett, about what the team want from the Southsiders and other fans in attendance...

Thanks Michael. It's nice to learn Buckland is local. I don't remember seeing her before with the Nats (she's very cute, so I'm sure I'd remember her). Was Crofton's Emily Zurrer at the presser?
Not that I know off, as she failed to make the squad.
Both the Chelsea's are cute :)
IMO the hottest current Canada girls are Emily Zurrer, Chelsea Stewart, Kaylyn Kyle, and Chelsea Buckland - in that order.
Chelsea Buckland - Kaylyn Kyle - Christina Julien
The CSA is so Mickey Mouse that they can't even be bothered posting decent recent photos of their players with any regularity, so I can't find a photo of Christina Julien to see whether I'd add her to my top five or not.
Guys, I thought you were all so much enlightened as to view our CWNT as sex objects. Shame on you, I excpect that kinda thing from Krisaug5, but seathanaich, really? ;)
My top 5 are all women who havent been named..

Dude, just because I will watch and cheer for the women as athletes doesn't mean I'm not going to check them out, and have a top 5 list . . . at least it's not curling, where I usually need a top 10 list . . .

Thank you for that! Apologies to Kris, but she doesn't crack my top five from that photo. However, Desiree Scott might, if she looks as cute in person as she does in the photo on that site. Too bad FIFA does a better job of listing the Canada players than the CSA does . . .
Hate to be disloyal to my adopted country but I'm rather looking forward to seeing the silking skills of Heather Mitts and Alex Morgan for the US and Natalie Garcia for Mexico.
Vancouver Vapors.

It would be quite the sight but I meant Mitts.
She wouldn't have a leg to stand on.
And talking of the ladies, we look back at tonight's six of the best Haitian thrashing. It's six-love at the end of the first set. Game on.
These women really do have six appeal...

Sinclair's third goal is something that wouldn't be out of place on an MLS "Goal of the Week" voting selection.

Martin Rennie - "We're always looking at Canadian players"

GoF said: Martin Rennie - "We're always looking at Canadian players"

Martin makes a really good point that the Canadian players that would be suitable for us are locked up in Europe for the most part. There isn't much Canadian content available in North America that are MLS material; other than the ones already under MLS contract.
I think that's something we don't really consider when we throw around the names of Canadian guys to come here.
Anyone coming from Europe, even down in the lower leagues of England, are on wages that the Caps probably wouldn't be prepared to pay.
A recap of tonight's women's game which has given us a semi....

Did you see that brain dead comment under your article? Might want to delete it.....
Can't really delete, as I'm too big on freedom of speech.
It will spark debate if nothing else. Good for the ratings, as they say.
For anyone who hasn't seen the comment. Some (presumably TFC dick) is slagging us off as people had Southsiders scarves on display and not solely Canadian ones.

Why didn't you post a reply to the "douchebag"? I just did.
If you guys weren't already aware, there's a very, very old argument constantly simmering on the Voyageurs boards about how Toronto FC fans have a tendency to wear their Toronto FC kits and bring their TFC gear to Canadian national team games and whether that's a bad thing or it doesn't matter.
I think that it's, on balance, a bad thing but I really don't give that much of a fuck (and feel the same way about Southsiders scarves at Canada matches). But be aware there's some history behind that "douchebaggery".
(Funnily enough, I saw a couple guys in TFC kits at yesterday's game too...)
I wore a Whitecaps Jersey since I don't have a Canada soccer Jersey. Figured it made more sense than a hockey Jersey?
So I guess that was poor form as well? Whatever.
OldTan complaining about "brain dead comments"! It's 7am and my day's complete! :-))

Reactions will range from "hey, you're supporting Canadian soccer!" to "it's not ideal but I'm not going to get in your face about it" (that's me) to "you are worse than Hitler".
