  • I'm planning on going. NY in the fall is the best time to visit. I'll probably go for a week and take the family. Her Holliday time permitting.
  • Minna and I are planning to go. We've stayed at the Belvedere in 2009 and found it to be very good value and great location. Would probably look at that again. But you are right Chris, it will be difficult to get something that weekend. Better to start looking now.

I'll let you know this week. Kyla needs to ask for time off work and then we can start booking the trip. Likely will need two tickets, as her brother has NYRB season tickets and would force us to wear Red Bull shirts if we sit with them!

    Chris,

I'll only need 1 ticket as match day will be a boys night out!

Also thinking of going to the NFL game on Sunday. Jets vs cowboys. Anyone else interested?

I'm going to Flushing Meadows for the NY Open Tennis on the Friday and VillaFan is going to the Mets v Cubs game on the Friday.

Sunday will have all the memorial events at Ground Zero, which I'd like to go to, as much as I'd like to go and experience a NY throwball game

I think I need more days in New York

I am planning on going once I win the draw from Doolin's!

During the Sporting KC match, we ended up doing several dropshots to drown the pain and ended up with a handful of entries into the contest.

You'll have to go a long way to beat the number James & Brett have consumed  $-)

Anyway, you'll probably want to swap the ones you'll win, cos I'd imagine they will be in a box, and I know you'd much rather be with the other Southsiders hurling abuse at Henry

Haha. Curse you James and Brett!

And I would definitely be swapping out and chanting with the Southsiders.

It only takes buying one Red Bull product to win.

But the more you buy, the more chances you have

That is disgusting. Did you guys drink all those or just order them for a draw ticket? I don't know what's in that stuff, but I once gave blood to a pharmacutical(sp) testing company. No alchohol or caffeine, for 24 or 48 hrs, but no red bull for two weeks. It took that long to clear the stuff out of your system.

Of those I drank about a third, James drank about a third and we bought and gave away a third. The day we bought 43 was the Rise and Shine Movie double header.  Anyways by the time I left the bar my body was going into shock.  I was getting  muscle twitching and was sweating.  I crashed around midnight only to be wide awake at 3am.  I texted James and to my amazement he was awake and texted me back straight back.  I would not advise drinking that much redbull, and I know I won't drink anywhere near that again ... and I'm a caffeine addict.

i had 9 full cans once and was "fine". the hang-over the next day (just from the redbull, no alcohol) was not fun though.

After how they turned SV Salzburg and the New York MLS team into advertisements for their company, I won't ever drink a Red Bull product.

I'm not criticising others, just saying what I won't do, and why.

I'll also confess that I will cheer if the New York Cosmos become an MLS team.

    Cheers.

New York Jets finally sent me a pre sale code for the Sunday game vs Dallas. Only upper deck is available but they are $125 anyway. Pre sale starts tomorrow, tickets go on sale Saturday. I think it may sell out fast so if anyone wants to go ill get tickets tomorrow morning.

Have you looked at StubHub for tickets to the game. I used them to get my NY Mets ticket for Thursday night.

Since the game is at 8:20pm Sunday night and I'll be finished the tourist thing for the day I'm thinking of going now.

They appear to be cheaper as you don't pay a huge Ticketmaster service charge and can print the tickets out at home.

My Mets tickets I paid a $5.00 service fee and $5.20 Print At Home charge
  • I purchased tickets for the Peter Bjorn and John show Sept 12th at Brooklyn Bowl.

If anyone else is interested here is the link.

    http://www.brooklynbowl.com/event/44589/

Tickets are quite cheap and the venue looks like a lot of fun.

I haven't seen any concerts listed that I want to go to.

Time Out New York is probably the most comprehensive guide to The Big Apple

For Broadway Shows there is a discounted ticket booth in Times Sq called TKTS

I'd quite like to see Billy Elliot.

About 18 years ago I saw Les Miserables on Broadway and can remember having to sit with my knees under my chin for 3 hours, pretty small seats
