I believe John (Lwo4life) and his wife are, but don't quote me on that.

I'm going to try and hit the match in Cuba, though I may not take the package.

I've seen far cheaper packages to Cuba. With the taxes and Vancouver add-on, it's $1400. I've seen far cheaper to Cuba, even considering the extras (ticket, transfers, dinner).

I looked last June. I seem to remember prices less than $1000.

  • Other than the CMNT match, are you going to Cuba to see drunk Canadians, or Cuba?  You can do the former at Doolin's.

Is that directed at Kris or at me?
  • Southside Nation,

We're considering it, but won't decide anything until the 'Caps' schedule is out.

I didnt mean that as the only attraction, but seeing as this is a trip organized for across canada, you'll get to meet new Voyageurs and supporters, potentially new friends. Can't go wrong there... As for seeing Cuba, that's a no-brainer, but you'd be doing that regardless of which option you take (atleast most of us would)

I'm thinking of making this my end of military service present. This trip fits the bill. Just wanted to see who from the west was heading down.

I am definitely (sort of definite) going.  Not sure about the package, I can fly my wife and I on points.
  • Smiddy,

Contract is up end of May. Time to put my supporters cap back on. I will be home in a couple weeks for leave. Talk to you about it then.

Same here. I'm sure some decent rates will be available in the weeks and months leading up to the match. I'm in no hurry to make a decision as work schedule is always a consideration but I am a bit concerned about ticket availability in the Canadian supporters section.
  • I sure hope we can get some games in Vancouver for the next round of qualifying. Might as well make it tough for the teams in terms of travel like Peter Schaad said numerous times on Whitecaps FC Daily.

you can find cheaper deals online for the trip, you just have to look around for it.... this package is nice because your with other supporters at the hotel .

Does anyone know how much the tickets will be in cuba for the game?

I plan on going, probably not with the package, but will coordinate the same hotel and stuff. I don't hear of much interest from the group in going. June in Cuba is not particularly pleasant, humidity and such.

Wife wants to go on package tour. What is the status of this tour, is it a week or four days? Would prefer four days. Voyageurs website a little disjointed.

  • Southside Nation,

I'm out. Wife doesn't want to leave our, by then, 9 month old for that long. I guess I'll have to wait for future matches. All the best to those making the trip! Enjoy your time with the Voyageurs!

Don't know if this has been covered yet in this thread but, will sportsnet be streaming this game live as well? or will it only be available (maybe) through a third party? Anyone know?

They haven't streamed any extraneous games in a while, so I would suspect not.

planning on taking an extended lunch break to show up for this... hopefully there is still a table for me.

edit: Is it a "match-day" menu or full?

sounds like a boring time, watching soccer matches with hot food and cold drinks but i'd much rather spend 8 hours in the pissing rain working.
