    Director of Membership & Recruiting
    • Maintains records of current membership;
    • Maintains list of members eligible for office;
    • Co-ordinates the distribution of membership packages and items;
    • Manages recruiting of new members.

    Eligible candidates may nominate themselves here, or they can accept a nomination brought forward by another person who is a member in good standing of the General Membership.

    It is important to note that only official, dues-paying members of the Southsiders can nominate a candidate. To assist with verification purposes, persons nominating others must self-identify as a member in good standing. The proposed candidate must also accept the nomination in writing on the discussion forum.

    It is recommended that candidates provide a brief statement within the appropriate discussion thread to provide the General Membership with a sense of their personal background, experience and expertise, particularly as those things relate to the board position in question.

    Nominees have the right to decline their nomination by a third party, or withdraw their nomination at any time prior to the Annual General Meeting.

    Nominees are only permitted to stand as a candidate for a maximum of one board position.

    The final deadline for nominations is 7:00 pm on Friday, November 25, 2011.

    I would like to nominate Kristjan Aug (krisaug5) for the role of director of membership & recruiting. Seeing how he is energetic as an assistant capo, he would be a natural for director of membership & recruiting!

    I must ask that if you are nominating someone that you write your full name and membership number, if you are nominating someone other than your self that you also write their full name please.

    I don't know if he'd thanks me for this, but I nominate Shawn Coleridge #51 to continue to serve the board as Membership Director.

    Shawn has worked tirelessly to attempt to make every meeting in order to distribute membership packages, and I can attest to the countless hours we spent in my garage picking scarfs, pins and booklets and putting them into plastic bags and bringing them to matches.

    If there is a member willing to step up and help Shawn, I know he'd/we'd appreciate it, as getting off work and getting down to the pub isn't always the easiest thing to do, especially carrying the boxes of membership kits on Seabus!

    Shawn has maybe missed one board meeting all year and with a young family, that is extremely commendable, and shows his dedication.

    I would like to reject the nomination for this position. I have no prior experience doing this sort of thing and while I don't mind volunteering, do not feel qualified to steer the ship per say. I would like to second the nomination for Shawn. He's done a great job and would like to see it continue that way.

    Probably best that Kris and Pat concentrate on being capos.  It's a demanding job.

    I know i probably shouldnt post in this, but not sure where else to post.

    I am working on organizing an indoor soccer team for march, taking 2 classes in the lead-up and entry to the 2012 season, work 2 jobs, am renovating a house, writing various lengthy exams for my job, and making 2-sticks and tifo. I think I may be too busy to take any VP position this season.
